crisis management MUN.

The Feature She Wished Her Smart Phone Had!

She is the leader of the Karnataka unit of MUN(mock United Nations). She was organizing the entire states MUN and about 80 schools and colleges were participating.

She was leading them from the front.
MUN is an organization driven by youth from different schools and is a forum for solving a lot of issues and creating a mock up for future leaders of the world.
They discus all issues representing various nations, the council, the press corps, etc as it is done in the real United Nations.
It was being moderated by her this year.
The crisis looming over the scene created a huge storm in the MUN that day.
War was declared by the rebels in the small country of Mushu, the rebel leaders were holding the current President as hostage. This President was an elected member of the parliament. The Security Council was meeting in New York today, right then.
She must have dialled at least a thousand numbers since the crisis was declared and was gathering her team for the mock session in Bangalore. But the issue being discussed was about the state of Mushu. She called them to her school and everyone assembled there.
There was a gay atmosphere, back slapping and joking but she was grim.
She called the house to order and proceeded with the opening address.
She told them that today the real UN was in session for the same issue.
After much debating and crisis management team in place, the group finally arrived at a solution.
Now the main issue was their problem solving was better than the chaos at the real UN assembly.
She desperately called all her known teachers, leaders, past members and every other person she knew to get them to listen to the solution this MUN had arrived at.
The futility of it all could be felt by her.
Though she had been using the most advanced phone on the earth from Tata Docomo, for making those tonnes of calls to gather her team together, but the idea of conveying this important message to the real Secretary of the UN could not be done by this instrument.
She wished that her One Touch Net Phone from Tata Docomo could defuse the crisis in Mushu by putting her across the two most important people. The President of Mushu and the UN Secretary General.
She could only send them an e-mail on that instrument.
The e-mail reached the clerks of the assembly later and the crisis had grown beyond proportions. The President was executed by the rebels and they now took charge of the rebel government.
She wished that as a MUNner she could have a phone which not only got her team together but could help in connecting to such remote and forbidden places too.
The world would be a much peaceful place with such connectivity.
She hoped when she graduates out of the college and when she joins the UN as a real delegate she would be having such a great instrument wherein she could be available for any crisis anywhere at anytime.
