An old temple converted into a school?

Another picture of the same school.

Place for us to rest, sell stuff and use it for sleeping?

Closed temple doors!

Money changers, hotel and the rest!

Dattatreya  Money Changer! Birth place of the same Guru Dattatreya.

A temple dedicated to Bhima from Mahabharata but no one enters here. A tailor sits stitching and doing his business here.

Guest house and beauty parlour?

This is a famous cafe inside a temple. You may sit on the two floors and sip beer or have Misthi doi!

Patan temple square!

Let us take some rest here besides a closed temple. The temples open once a year. Imagine opening only a few hundred times in the past thousand years!

General Meeting place.

Enjoy the temples supported by stilts!

Can I say anything about it here?
I visited Nepal and found to my dismay a lot of old heritage sites converted into schools and restaurants selling beer and the like. These are temples built hundreds of years ago and now they house couples necking away, druggies, vendors selling wares, etc.. Smokers and drinkers lining up the balustrades and people sitting chatting away. Its a very sad case of ruins going to ruins. Sigh! I sincerely hope the erstwhile Hindu kingdom takes it seriously otherwise this will be another case of Bamiyan!
