The Significant Other!
5:58:00 PMKrishna RaoDoes love ever come to you and say that you are now in love? Does it ever come announced or does it suddenly strike you down and leave you stunned? Do you feel that which you never ever wanted suddenly came over you and left you speechless? Do you feel the pangs all day long and your nights are full of dreams of the special one and the deep sleep passes as if in a trance filled with waking and sleeping full of visions? Do you daydream and make fantasies about that special someone?
These are few of the symptoms that a lover faces when he or she is deeply in love.
They can never overcome the state of euphoria and floating on the clouds syndrome.
It is as good as a high on taking drugs. The heady feeling and heart wrenching, tongue twisting, fulfilling feeling never leaves you. You are constantly on the lookout for a missive, a mail, a letter, a token of some connectivity from your S/o. Not a single day can pass without meeting or phone-calls or some sort of communications. When the lover goes to some far away place you would like to follow that one to such a place. There are no necessary reasons for doing such but the only act of being closer to the one is pushing you towards that destination.
The food tastes bland and tasteless when you are not with her but when you have even a simple snack with her it tastes like heaven. The constant need for you to look forward to the time of the day when you will meet her. You enjoy the gifts and presents that happen to come along. You go to such lengths to search for that unique thing that would make you see that sweet smile from her face. Is there ever a time in life when you feel that this is enough or leaving and going back home is not full of misery? You dread the days when you cannot see her even for a minute. Even though you meet there are no words that can pass between and yet everything seems so full up. The constant nagging feeling that something may happen to her or you can loose her can cause such an upheaval in your world that you can stop breathing.
Why do you torture yourself every single day when you have a lovers tiff and not talk to her? You know that you want to yet when it comes to picking up the phone and calling her, you never come to it?
To be in love is a terrible thing which takes away your peace of mind and at the end of it all you have no mind of your own. Always controlled by the love of your life. You fret over what gifts to give on the birthday and you want to celebrate every month the anniversary of your first meeting. Your lies increase beyond limits. Lies become a simple and easy way of expression and if you were to see below them, then they talk of ways of meeting your beloved. Lies to your parents, relatives, husbands, wives, children, friends and any other person that comes in the way. They actually do not mean any harm but the lovers find ways and means of getting to meet.
They dream of a great future and get scared at the least provocation from outside. They resent anyone talking ill of their relationship. They want to be left alone.
Love is a terrible thing to happen to someone because their entire focus goes away from the life they were leading before it happened. They loose sight of their individual goals and now have common goals. They are willing to sacrifice for each other...
The final conclusion would be that it is great to be in love but beware the pitfalls of the material world. In the end love turns to possessiveness and fulfillment of desires. It can never be unconditional.
